On October 12, 2003 The Indian Express ran a feature article on an interfaith activist Roman Catholic priest in Mumbai: "Armed with books, audio cassettes and his laptop, [Varghese] Alengaden—the director of Indore-based Universal Solidarity Movement — visits schools all over the world. He talks to teachers, students and parents to spread his message of peace and harmony. ‘We focus on the values, not the rituals of religions. I tell children to banish hatred and promote inter-religious interaction. Unless you talk, you can’t remove misunderstanding,' says the priest, who has visited over 600 schools across the world."
