On November 4, 2004 Haaretz News reported, "Democratic presidential challenger Senator John Kerry secured an overwhelming 78 percent of Jewish votes in Tuesday's presidential election - just two percent less than the Jewish vote Al Gore received four years ago. But the Jewish vote wasn't enough to push Kerry over the top, and he conceded the election Wednesday to President George W. Bush, who said, 'America has spoken and I'm humbled by the trust and the confidence of my fellow citizens.'"
