On April 12, 2005 The Record reported, "Rabbi Francine Roston is poised to shatter a stained-glass ceiling. Roston, the 36-year-old leader of New Milford's Congregation Beth Tikvah, will leave Bergen County in July to head Congregation Beth El, which serves more than 550 families in South Orange. Her new post will make her the first female rabbi in the United States to head a Conservative congregation with more than 500 families since the movement began ordaining women in 1985. Roston was interviewed at Beth Tikvah as she prepared for her new job."
