History: The building now owned by Cambridgeport Baptist Church was originally founded in the 1800s by Emmanuel Baptist Church. Attendance at Emmanuel Baptist Church was dwindling in the 1980s, so the building was put up for sale. The church building was jointly purchased in 1982 by two separate congregations, Cambridgeport Baptist Church (CBC) and Iglesia Bautista Central (IBC). Though these congregations remained distinct, they both used the church building. In 1997, the IBC congregation moved to Boston in order to be in an area with a larger Hispanic population. This church now operates as Congregacion Leon de Juda. Later in 1997, a new church called Iglesia Bautista Central was created. This church shared a building with Cambridgeport Baptist Church as the old IBC had done before. The new IBC operated for nine years, than disbanded in 2006 due to low attendance. CBC is currently the only owner of the church building.

Description: Cambridgeport Baptist Church is located in a large brick building in a residential area.
