That is one of the main reasons why the White House recently appointed him as the new American Muslim Community Liaison. Barzinji is the former Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.

Advocates Call for Training in County Where Sikh Man Falsely Accused of Terrorism | SikhNet

A coalition of 40 local and national civil rights organizations have joined The Sikh Coalition to demand accountability and training after two South Asian, Punjabi-speaking men traveling on a Greyhound bus in February were arrested in Amarillo, Texas. In April, The Sikh Coalition called on local officials to investigate the accusers for filing a false police report and to evaluate police practices.

Sikh Youth Symposium Builds Confidence in Public Speech | SikhNet

Dayton, OH: The local level edition of 2016 International Sikh Youth Symposium, a public speaking competition for youth ages 6 to 22 was held at Guru Nanak Society Gurdwara in Cincinnati, OHIO. Youth ages 6 to 22 from Cincinnati and neighboring Dayton participated in 5 separate age categories. This year marked the biggest ever - 42 participants, out of which 9 are going to the Regional level competition to be held in Cleveland, OH on June 18. Winners from the regional event are then presented at the annual international gathering.

Washington : Jan 14, 2016 -A Sikh bus driver in Los Angeles was brutally assaulted and called a terrorist and a suicide bomber, the victim’s representatives said on Wednesday over two months after the incident was reported to the police.The Sikh Coalition group, is representing the victim Balwinder Jit Singh, who worked as a bus driver for 17 years.
