On July 10, 2003 the Waco Tribune-Herald reported that "fourteen young people eight black and six Hispanic are the test class for a new summer camp aimed at promoting friendships and understanding across religious, racial and cultural lines. The Youth for Peace Coalition, an educational program founded by the Rev. Charlotte Evans, is meeting this week at Eastland Lakes, the Baylor University retreat center... Evans enlisted the aid of presenters from the greater Waco area to talk about Islam, Judaism and the Baha'i faith; Central Asia, Africa and the Far East, as well as lead daily rap sessions on overcoming prejudices."
