MADISON, Wis. -- On a hill, overlooking a 200-acre nature center in the Wisconsin woods, sit three unmarked graves for veterans who followed the Wiccan religion.

Thanks to lawsuit settlement announced Monday, they won't be unmarked for long.

In a settlement with Wiccans, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs agreed to add the religion's pentacle to the list of emblems allowed in national cemeteries and on government-issued headstones of fallen soldiers.

The deal calls for the VA to provide new grave markers with the pentacle -- whose five points represent earth, air, fire, water and spirit -- within 14 days.

Wiccan high priestess Selena Fox is already planning a ceremony to recognize the new black granite grave markers that will rest on the hill on Circle Sanctuary land in Barneveld, west of Madison.

The three veterans buried there are among 11 nationwide whose families have pending requests with the VA for markers, she said.
