On June 2, 2005 Ecumenical News International reported, "Representatives of a number of US Protestant denominations and Jewish groups are planning a joint visit to the Middle East after criticism of plans of some churches to consider divestment from companies in Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories...An agreement by the various organizations to travel together to the Israeli and the Palestinian territories was reached in May by the US National Council of Churches (NCC) and the American Jewish Committee. The visit is scheduled for 18-23 September."
