On June 27, 2003 The Anti-Defamation League issued a press release stating that "In an open letter to Massachusetts State Senator Guy Glodis, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called upon him to publicly apologize from the Senate floor for having distributed an incendiary and bigoted flier that 'purports to provide a formula for responding to Muslim extremism...'" The letter states, "Your decision to circulate it among colleagues is deeply troubling and calls for an immediate explanation. In this regard, your response to this episode, as reported in this morning’s Boston Globe did little to reassure us that there was any purpose other than spreading gratuitous invective. It is the kind of approach that gives safe harbor to the hatred that has led in some instances, like this week in New Bedford, to violence against our own neighbors here in the Commonwealth."
