On May 23, 2003 ADL reported that "The Arizona Region of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting of Sikh truck driver Avtar Singh. According to reports, the 52-year-old Phoenix man, who wears a turban and untrimmed beard as part of his faith, was wounded by men who told him to, 'Go back to where you belong.'"
