On April 4, 2004 The Scotsman reported, "Three teenagers have been arrested after a 'faith hate' attack on 40 Muslim graves. The gravestones were knocked down and broken in the attack at Charlton Cemetery, south London, last month. The teenagers, aged 13, 15 and 16 have been arrested and bailed to return to a London police station in ten days. The desecration of the graves brought revulsion from the Muslim and wider community. Senior Investigating officer DCI Clive Driscoll said he was, 'absolutely delighted with the help and assistance we have received from the public.'"
