On October 8, 2003 The Press and Journal reported that "a teenager from the North-east has set up a group for young witches. Christopher Fawkes founded the Young Scottish Witches' Organisation to combat prejudice, bullying and misconceptions surrounding the practice. And his parents are said to have given him full backing. Christopher, 15, a fourth-year pupil at Harlaw Academy in Aberdeen, says he has discovered that many people who follow paganism, or Wicca, have encountered prejudice."
