Brothers Jaspal Singh Rai, 12, and Jaskaran, 9, are quick to say what they liked best about Vancouver's Vaisakhi parade.

"My favourite part is eating," the elder boy told The Vancouver Sun as the massive parade moved slowly behind him Saturday afternoon.

Little brother Jaskaran piped in with his opinion.

"I like eating and looking at trucks."

There was plenty of both at the massive street celebration - traditional Indian foods handed out for free by parade participants and 28 floats on flat-decks decorated with colourful streamers, balloons and glitter. The Rai boys came from Surrey with their whole family to enjoy Vancouver's largest-ever Vaisakhi parade, which marks the holiest day on the Sikh calendar. The crowd is estimated to have been more than 100,000, despite record cold temperatures and a snowfall the night before.
