The red spray paint on the front window of the Somali-owned Hormud market Thursday morning had a not-so-subtle message: Go home.
Jama Alimad, who had stopped in to buy coffee, had a strong response.
“The right answer is, we are home. This is our home. We are here to stay,” Alimad said.
