This Thursday, world-renowned sacred chant/new age artist Snatam Kaur will be coming to Ann Arbor. This stop is part of her "Celebrate Peace" world tour. The concert will feature music from Snatam Kaur's new album, "Anand," along with performances from guitarist Guru Ganesha Singh and percussionist Krishan Khalsa. The primary message of their music and their tour is simply peace.

"We're on the celebrate peace tour where we do community service as well as concerts," Kaur says. "We've been able to give peace grants to local organizations that are working for peace on the planet [in the amount of] $2,000 [each grant]. I've been so inspired by the work that so many people are doing.

"Sometimes the media will have us believe that war is breaking out everywhere, and it can feel kind of hopeless. But what I've seen on the celebrate peace tour are that there are hundreds and hundreds of people working for peace, and there are probably thousands and millions out there. It's inspiring to me to see how people [do this] in their own daily lives and ways."
