On November 17, 2004 icCoventry.com reported, "Trustees of a Sikh temple in Coventry are looking forward to a new era of harmony after a planning row over the building was finally settled. The new board at the Guru Hargobind Sikh Temple in Coventry Street, Stoke, worked with local residents to find an acceptable solution to a wrangle which had gone on for more than nine years. Now it has been granted planning permission to build an extension including a dining room, kitchen, toilets, shoe room, second prayer hall, Holy Book room and a three-bedroomed flat for a priest."
