Baltimore County police said Monday that they're close to making an arrest in the case of anti-Semitic vandalism found on signs at two buildings less than a mile apart.

Black spray paint was used to deface signs outside the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation on Slade Avenue and the Beth Tfiloh Community School on Old Court Road in Pikesville.

The incidents occurred just days before Yom Kippur, which begins at sundown Wednesday.

Police said the vandal or vandals painted a swastika and the word "Nazis" at both sites between late Saturday night and Sunday morning.
