On February 23, 2003 the Telegraph of Nashua reported that "since October, those interested in learning about Buddhist meditation have been welcome to join this free, open group, which meets at the... Unitarian-Universalist Church of Nashua [NH]... on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 7-9 p.m. Meetings begin with a brief introductory talk given by rotating leaders, followed by 45 minutes of alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation... Many branches of Buddhism share this principle of mindfulness. The Nashua group focuses on the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, introduced to the Western world by Tibetan Chogyam Trungpa in the 1960s. Trungpa’s command of the English language enabled him to translate Buddhist concepts in a way that made sense to Westerners. Shambhala combines the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism with the Shambhala view of living fully engaged with the world."
