On March 20, 2006 the Chico Enterprise-Record reported, "Muslims, Jews and Christians ate dinner together Sunday night as a way to learn about each others' similarities and bring the groups together. About 160 people gathered at First Christian Church as part of the second annual Celebration of Abraham. Christianity, Islam and Judaism all have roots to Abraham. The celebration event started last year and was attended by more than 200 people, said Julie Hilton Danan, a committee member... Event coordinator Ali Sarsour said the theme of this year's event was diversity within each religion. The evening started with 20-minute presentations by each group and was followed by a vegetarian potluck dinner where people were encouraged to sit next to people they didn't know. Conversation starting suggestions were put at each table to stimulate dialogue."
