Russian Buddhist Delegation Travels to Nepal

On November 6, 2005 The Buddhist Channel reported, "A Russian Buddhist delegation headed by the Russian Religious Ambassador Eldinev Ayush will pay a week-long visit to Nepal [starting] tomorrow. The delegation is coming at the invitation of Nepal-Russia Cultural Association and Shakya Foundation, Nepal. The delegation consists of monk[s], journalist[s] and law professionals and is expected to [meet] the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Buddhi Raj Bajracharya. According to chairman of the Nepal-Russia Cultural Association, Rajendra Bahadur Adhikari, the delegation is expected to visit Buddhist religious sites in Kathmandu Valley as well as hold talks with the concerned officials regarding construction of Buddhist stupa in Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha."
