Rocks Thrown at Waterbury Mosque During Prayer Service

On November 21, 2001, The Hartford Courant reported that "Police are considering hate charges in the vandalism attack on a local mosque during a weekend prayer service. 'We're looking into the possibility of it being a hate crime,' said Lt. Neil O'Leary, head of detectives in Waterbury. ... About 100 people were attending a Ramadan prayer service at the United Muslim Mosque Saturday when rocks were thrown through two windows, police said. No one was injured."
