On October 9, 2004 Times Leader reported, "A group striving to end violence in the Middle East will bring its message of peace and forgiveness to the area this week. Parents' Circle-Families Forum, an association of bereaved individuals who have lost relatives and loved ones in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, will have two delegates visit five Luzerne County colleges from Wednesday through Friday. Robi Damelin, an Israeli whose son was killed while on military duty two years ago, and Nadwa Sarandah, a Palestinian whose sister was killed in the streets of Jerusalem five years ago, will take part in presentations and discussions at King's College, Wilkes University, College Misericordia, Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Luzerne County Community College."
