Queen's Awards Recognize Muslim Groups for Service

On June 24, 2005 The Muslim News reported, "Muslim Welfare House (MWH) is among three Muslim organisations to be recognized in the prestigious Queen’s Award for voluntary service announced on June 2. It is the third time in recent months that the 30-year-old organisation has been chosen out for exemplary community work: Director, Fadi Itani, last year picked up an award from ‘The Muslim News Awards for Excellence for Good Citizenship’ as well as the ‘Mayor of Islington Civic Award 2005'...MWH is a registered charitable trust providing a wide range of social, educational and cultural services in Finsbury Park. Other organizations to be awarded include, the Eritrean Muslim Community Association, which provides advice on education and welfare together with the provision of recreational and social activities for diverse communities in London."
