On June 27, 2003 The Associated Press reported that "wearing a traditional head scarf, Lobna 'Luby' Ismail stood silently Thursday before a room packed with community leaders and members of Florida's law-enforcement agencies... Ismail is president of Connecting Cultures, a Silver Spring, Md.-based cultural-training company. She has been traveling across the country since last month with Manjit Singh, chairman of Washington-based Sikh Mediawatch and Resource Task Force... Miami was the fourth of six stops for the Arab, Muslim, and Sikh Awareness and Protocol Seminar sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Service... Ismail said it's especially important to hold seminars such as these because of increased racial tensions in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks."
