On February 15, 2004 the Sunday Times reported, "The Andhra Maha Sabha of South Africa has invited President Thabo Mbeki to be the guest of honour at its first Raam and Hari bhajan festival, writes Taschica Pillay. The festival, to be held at the Chatsworth Stadium from 5pm on Saturday until 6am on Sunday, will feature Raam bhajan groups, Hari bhajan groups and Kollatum dancers from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. The festival's events coordinator, Lenny Naidoo, said this was the first time a festival of this nature was being held by the Andhra Maha Sabha where groups from around the country would perform together. Naidoo said meals would be served from 6pm to 10pm on Saturday and that 20 000 copies of a 24-page newspaper, Andhra Patrika, would be distributed free."
