Mayor Bloomberg told worshipers at a Hindu prayer service in Queens Thursday that Mumbai was “another New York” and warned against letting the terrorists win.

“We have to make sure we don’t do exactly what the terrorists want us to do,” he said, “and that is walk away from our freedom, walk away from our willingness to help each other, walk away from our dedication to making sure the whole world is open to everybody.”

More than 100 people gathered at the Hindu Temple Society of North America in Flushing to pray for peace after militant Muslims killed more than 100 people in a bloody rampage.

More than two dozen gunmen — some of them arriving by boat — fanned out across the city around dusk Wednesday and attacked sites popular with tourists and businessmen, including two luxury hotels.

“They killed 3,000 people on 9/11,” Bloomberg said. “This attack on Mumbai’s just another continuation of the battle I think all of us have to continue to fight.”
