A New York town supervisor is apologizing to an Orthodox Jewish woman after a police officer ordered her to remove her wig for a mug shot.
The woman and her husband objected, saying the wig was a religious requirement. Ramapo Town Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence says the woman wept as the officer insisted.
