The inside of San Fernando Cathedral fairly glowed with warmth on Thanksgiving morning.
Outside, the arctic wind that had blown in the night before was sharp, the morning still gray.
Wearing jackets and scarves dug from the backs of closets, coats and hats that had been waiting patiently for the first nip of fall, congregants from the city's many religious traditions filled the pews as light from yellow candles radiated softly.
Families, couples, friends and individuals gathered in the "historical mother church of San Antonio," in Father David Garcia's words, for the 16th interfaith Thanksgiving service.
