On December 11, 2003 Southern Oregon News reported that the Havurah Synagogue of Ashland is opening its doors to people of all faiths for two special events this Hannukah. The first is the Synagogue's annual Hanukkah Fair on December 21 after which will be a play by the students of the Synagogue school and the traditional menorah candle lighting ceremony. This year, the Havurah Hebrew School's play, written and directed by Debra Gordon-Zaslow, is based on a true story of a town in Montana that banded together to fight hate crimes at Hanukkah time. On December 27 the public is also invited to a special interfaith concert entitled "Psalm Enchanted Evening." The concert features Rabbi Zaslow, along with guest artists Debra Zaslow and Jonah Bornstein.
