Javidukht Khadem stood by her husband as he traveled around the world to spread the message of the Baha'i faith. But believers who encountered the couple said it was Mrs. Khadem's devotion and her intuition that for more than four decades helped shape their spiritual convictions.
Mrs. Khadem, 94, died Sunday, July 1, in Highland Park Hospital of complications from an apparent fall. She was surrounded by her family and the sound of chanted prayers that had been recorded by Mrs. Khadem and her late husband, Zikrullah Khadem, the first of a select group of Baha'i stewards to move to the Western Hemisphere.
