The Baha'i religious community on the North Shore is turning to prayer power to help their beleaguered members in Iran.
"We are joining other Baha'is throughout New Zealand to pray that things will not take an ugly turn for the worse for Baha'is in Iran," says the local assembly's head and Devonport resident Fay Greenslade.
Mrs Greenslade says their fears were heightened by new allegations by the Iranian government that Baha'is played a role in organising the Ashura protests.
