On September 25, 2003 The Express-Times (PA) reported: "construction is scheduled to begin next spring on a religious temple that will become the only one of its kind within a more than 50-mile radius. The township's board of supervisors unanimously voted to give preliminary/final approval to the Sikh Society of the Lehigh Valley's plans for the temple...The new temple will be on a 14.4-acre parcel of land..., said Justin Coyle, the project's engineer. It will be a 13,000-square-foot, two-story building with worshipping space, classrooms and a kitchen area, Coyle said."
