National President of Muslim Student Association Joins CAIR Board

On January 11, 2005 a CAIR Press Release reported, "the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's leading Islamic civil rights and advocacy group, announced today that it has elected Hadia Mubarak to its board. Mubarak is the current president of the Muslim Student Association - National (MSA), the first female to serve in that post. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Contemporary Arab Studies with a concentration in Women and Gender at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. Prior to becoming the President of MSA National, Mubarak was the chair of the Political Action Taskforce of MSA National during the 2003-2004 academic year and a full-time intern at the Brookings Institute's Saban Center for Middle East Policy. She also served as a member of the Brookings Institute's organizing committee of the U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Doha, Qatar."
