The Muslim Student Association concluded their fourth annual Fast-A-Thon last night by presenting a check for $1,580 to the Lawrence Community Shelter.
The association raised the money by asking local businesses to sponsor over 500 non-Muslim students who pledged to fast for one day. Loring Henderson, director of the Lawrence Community Shelter, accepted the check.
