On July 7, 2005 a MPAC Press Release reported, "Officials from the Muslim Public Affairs Council today held simultaneous press conferences in Washington, DC and Los Angeles to declare their unequivocal condemnation of the brutal murder of innocent civilians in London this morning.

In its statement released this morning, MPAC said: "...Islam considers the use of terrorism to be unacceptable for any purpose... This assault is unmistakably an act of terrorism, an attack against humanity... As Americans, we are familiar with the imminent and the long-term repercussions of terrorism. Here at home, we stand in solidarity with law enforcement to maintain security, and we have every reason to believe that similar cooperation will take place in London.'

MPAC is calling upon members of the American Muslim community to be on alert and take pro-active measures to protect the security of our mosques, communities, and nation."
