On November 21, 2003 The Sun Herald reported that "congregates of The Biloxi Islamic Center are bringing food and clothing to their mosque throughout Ramadan, the monthlong holy observance that includes fasting, reflection and prayer.

On Saturday, they will set up tables at the center on Keller Avenue and distribute the food and clothing to South Mississippi's less fortunate... An estimated 300 adherents of Islam live in the three Coastal counties, with the Biloxi Center being the largest masjid, or mosque. In Gulfport there is a smaller one, Masjid Al-haqq."
