On December 15, 2004 Star Tribune reported, "in nearly a century in Minnesota, the Nudell family has gone from a single poor tinsmith from Ukraine living on Minneapolis' North Side with his nine children, to a prosperous clan with local branches in Golden Valley and Edina -- and relations scattered from sea to shining sea. According to a new study of local Jews described as the most complete and accurate ever undertaken, the Nudells' economic, social and geographic journey represents that of Minnesota's Jewish community. Life in Jewish enclaves has been replaced by a suburban Diaspora that finds Jews spread widely across the metro area. And that is a source of both hope and worry for the local Jewish leaders who commissioned the report... The Jewish community of the western metro area will gather tonight in Minnetonka to celebrate the strengths of an accomplished and prosperous group with strong ties to its religious institutions and to ponder issues such as the trend of younger Jews marrying outside the faith."
