Members of the local media have been briefed on the principles of the Baha’i faith to use as a source of reference while covering various events.

The Baha’i faith is based on love, purity, kindness, radiance and the oneness of the world and its people, they were told. It calls on people to live collectively as one world so social justice may be realised.

In a bid to have more Seychellois sharing these values, the Baha’i centre on Roch Lane, Victoria, briefed media staff on Friday on some of its basic principles and the teachings of its founder, Baha’u’lla.

The presentation was organised to commemorate the launch of the United Nations Day of Social Justice, marked for the first time this year.

Felix Charles, external affairs officer for the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Seychelles, said the day was the ideal time to spread awareness of the Baha’i faith, as it is also based on social justice.
