On April 10, 2005 the Indo-Asian News Service reported, "The much-hyped Dandi march is over. But another group of people have now launched a march to spread Mahatma Gandhi's ideals across three states including Gujarat. Led by 96-year-old Sidhdharaj Dhadhdha, who however will journey on a vehicle, the activists started their 'Jan Samvad Yatra' (Mass Contact March) Saturday evening from Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram here. They will traverse through Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra to spread Gandhian values of non-violence, peace and religious tolerance. The march, earlier planned to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi march, was rescheduled as it would have clashed with the function organised by the Congress party, Dhadhdha told IANS."
