Another inter-religious prayer service for the nation has been organized for this Saturday as public frustration with the coalition government mounts.

The Inter-Faith Network will hold a procession and prayers to mark the first anniversary of the signing of the National Accord which created the coalition government on February 28 last year.

The procession will start at St Teresa's Catholic Cathedral in Kibuye, Kisumu, at 9.00 am, ending at Jomo Kenyatta Grounds where the interfaith prayers will be held.

The organisers, Inter-Faith Network, are one of several civil society organizations under the umbrella of Nyanza Strategic Recovery Forum. NSRF was formed last year to mobilize stakeholders to participate effectively in the recovery of Nyanza Province and the nation following the post-election violence.

The forum said a year after the signing of the National Accord the coalition has failed the country. "The people of Nyanza Province feel disenchanted, troubled and outraged at the dismal performance and regressive tendencies of the two principals, the entire coalition government and parliament."
