On October 31, 2004 The Hartford Courant reported, "on Saturday, a group of Jewish and Muslim students gathered for the first time to share an iftar dinner, the meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan, the Islamic holy month. Antepli and Rabbi David Leipziger, Jewish chaplain at Wesleyan, formed the group last year. About 30 percent of the university's student population is Jewish, and there are about 75 Muslim students on campus. So far, they have attended a conference on Jewish-Muslim coexistence at a New York synagogue, and the Jewish students will host Muslim students for a Shabbat dinner next month."
