On February 22, 2005 The Arizona Republic reported, "Josh Furman and Azad Molla Hosseini may have never become friends if it weren't for a school club that promotes peace. Josh is Jewish, and Azad is Muslim. Their different religious backgrounds created natural barriers to friendship. But the high school juniors have a greater understanding of each other thanks to the Arizona Teen Chapter Seeds of Peace. The 3-year-old club at Desert Mountain High School is part of a larger non-profit group dedicated to world peace. The local chapter is holding its annual benefit gala Sunday, the proceeds of which will allow students from other nations to gather in the interest of peace. Josh and Azad, both high school juniors, got involved in the local club, which has about 15 to 20 core members from various backgrounds, after hearing about it on campus."
