On July 7, 2003 the Bucks County Courier Times reported that "believing that people of faith must raise their voices for peace, people from diverse religious traditions and beliefs will hold an Interfaith Vigil & Candlelight Procession for Peace, Justice, & Freedom, on Sunday, 7:30 p.m., beginning at historic Christ Church, 2nd & Market Streets, Philadelphia... The Interfaith Vigil and Candlelight Procession is being convened by the Brandywine Peace Community, Catholic Peace Fellowship, and the Metropolitan Christian Council of Philadelphia Peacemaking Committee and has been endorsed by a range of religious groups, faith communities, and peace organizations... The service will include: a prayer by Chief Bob Red Hawk Ruth of the Lenape Nation; Congregational songs by George Mordechai, a Jewish cantor from Beth Zion-Beth Israel Congregation, Philadelphia, and Yasser Abu'l Ouf, University of Pennsylvania; and poetry by Monsignor Michael Doyle, poet and pastor of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Camden, N.J."
