On November 16, 2005 The Canadian Jewish News reported, "At one Toronto synagogue, Mike Feldman’s name will tout virtues for which the city has become famous: tolerance and respect for others. On Nov. 17, Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda Synagogue will honour Toronto’s deputy mayor and North York political fixture with its second annual “Yakir Hakahal” (Precious to the Community) Award... Proceeds from the event will go toward establishing the Mike and Sue Feldman Centre for Toronto Community Dialogue, intended to promote good relations among religious and ethnic groups in the city. To be located at Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda, the centre will serve as a resource for improving interfaith relations, something Feldman says he and the city he serves have long championed."
