On June 24, 2004 The Interfaith Alliance reported, "Panelists at a forum hosted by The Interfaith Alliance at the Los Angeles Film School Theater on Wednesday urged political candidates to emphasize the proper role of religion in public life and to stop using religion as a political strategy. With an electorate apparently more interested in values than in specific issues, the nation has become increasingly polarized, panelists agreed. 'No matter who is elected to the Oval Office and to Congress on November 2nd, the nation could be even more polarized on November 3rd than we are today,' said the Rev. Dr. Welton Gaddy, President of The Interfaith Alliance, who moderated the forum. 'We must find a level of national unity and a spirit of cooperation required to allow the president and the Congress to govern this nation.' "
