The Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt, Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamiji and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will sit in together with Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Bishop Thomas Dabre and Cardinal Jean-Louis Pierre Tauran of the Vatican for an inter religious dialogue on June 12-13 in the city.

The inter religious dialogue, the largest of its kind in recent times, is being organised by the Catholic Church with a view to spreading understanding among different religious groups in the country.

Cardinal Gracias said there was a need to promote understanding among various religious groups in the country, particularly in the context of the attacks on minorities. He made a pointed reference to the problems of the Christians in Orissa where thousands of them had to leave their homes in the Khandamals district and live in tents.
