On August 10, 2005 KHOU.com reported, "Area ministers and religious leaders were at Hobby Airport Wednesday morning for the unveiling of a new Interfaith Chapel. Worshippers of all faiths now have a place to pray at Hobby airport [in Houston, Texas]. 'We know a large number of people wanted a quiet and dignified place to meditate and pray at Hobby Airport,' said the Rev. Brett Jones, HAS executive chaplain. 'Bush Intercontinental's chapel -- even though it's located in a restricted area -- has about 135 visitors each day who are ticketed passengers and about 100 daily who work at the airport. So there is certainly a desire for a spiritual refuge like this, and the one at Hobby is accessible to all.'"
