THE order to remove rakshas (sacred threads) from the wrists of Hindu pupils at the Cunupia High School has provoked the wrath of the Hindu Students Council of Trinidad and Tobago (HCSTT).
The organisation of secondary and tertiary students that help pupils understand Hinduism in an attempt to create a more peaceful society, reacted to the school's decision to refuse entry to those pupils wearing the rakshas earlier this week.
The Ministry of Education has apologised for the incident.
