In a remarkable interfaith gesture, faith leaders from different religions and denominations got together on February 13 to pray and bless the students of prestigious Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Nevada (USA).

Participants included acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, Buddhist priest Reverend William Bartlett, Rabbi Myra Soifer, Head Bishop of International Community of Christ Right Reverend Gene Savoy Jr., Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Brother Jeff Olsen, and Roman Catholic priests Father Mark Hanifan and Father John Legerski.

This was the eleventh anniversary celebration of Annual Interfaith Prayer Service of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. According to Father Hanifan, besides blessing the students, this Service is built on the theme of unity and respect for all peoples. Besides prayers, these leaders of various faiths also lighted the candles on the occasion, symbolizing the light of the dawning of a new day for the world.
