THE Hindu Union Association in Uganda has said the controversial piece of land that has been claimed by City High School is its graveyard.

The Union, run by Asians living Uganda, says earlier reports that the land belongs to the school are untrue. "The above plot has been property of the Association as children's cemetery since 1954," the union vice chairman, Mr Shukla Mukesh, said in a statement yesterday.

Recent media reports have indicated that the land on Plot 1B Lugogo Bypass: FRV folio 1 in Kampala "belonging to City High School" had been sealed off by an Asian businessman. Authorities at the government school claimed that the Managing Director of Shumuk Industries, Mr Shumuk Mukesh, had sealed off the plot.

However, in the statement Mr Mukesh said the land is "not for sale" and warned that trespassers would be taken to court.
